This little dragon was yawning so wide, I thought I was going to fall asleep looking at him.
“Excuse me. The pirate dragon said you could help me find Purple Dragon. I need his real name.”
The yawner nodded, still yawning. Finally he managed to say, “Too many bedtime stories. Bedtime Cat doesn’t even know one of his stories is about where to find Purple Dragon.”
I waited.
He yawned again, looked at the map, and said, “Five steps back that way. You’ll need to get past his gate keeper.” He lifted his eye ridges, making him look like he was a little scared.
He whispered the name in my ear.
I took a deep breath and turned around. Maybe this time.
