Rufus told me to write my own announcement for my latest book. He’s busy doing OUT before our mild fall turns to winter. His only condition was that I make it funny and interesting. Something about withholding treats. I’m not afraid of him. I know where the treats are hidden.

Friday I released my latest Bumblespells book: The Lazy Dragon and the Death Curse.
Goofy-prankster-nap-specialist Cl’rnce is back and in plenty of trouble. But this time he’s like the turkeys in my backyard.
A dr’gon is like a turkey hen? How?
Recently three turkey hens showed up with five chicks in tow. The goofy looking big birds had found our backyard bird feeders. Nothing to worry about except running out of seed.

One morning I was peacefully writing in my gazebo (Dr’gons Roost). Along came the turkey parade (all 3 hens and 5 chicks) headed for breakfast in the backyard. Everything was quiet until an ambitious peregrine went after one of the chicks. Big mistake. In a frantic escape from the furious turkey hens, the falcon swooped through my gazebo swerving away inches from my nose. Two of the hens were in hot pursuit running after it.
That falcon really underestimated those ungainly looking hens! The peregrine landed HIGH in a tree and shrilled at me for letting these monsters loose. The Hens turned and huffed back to the other turkeys. Gathered up, the full horde of warrior turkeys stomped off to the woods. I’m pretty sure headed for the scraps I put out for the fox.

Just like the falcon underestimated the goofy looking turkeys, prankster and obsessive nap-taker Cl’rnce is underestimated by the villains in his latest adventure. After falling victim to a Death Curse that has already turned him into a ghost and will soon kill him, Cl’rnce has to decide to stand up to the threats and act like a hero.
Cl’rnce has to become a hero, just like the Turkey hens who saved their chicks. Neither may look scary, but … I nominate both the Hero Turkey Hens and Cl’rnce Dr’gon!
