Having a Fat Day, Again

Having a Fat Day, Again
15 March 2012
I am having a fat day. Yeah, another one. Today if I needed a new photo of myself for say this blog, I’d need something way bigger than the elk statue I cowered behind for my blog photo. Maybe a mammoth. What’s bigger?
I can tell it’s going to be a Fat Day when I get up early in order to eat. This morning the cats had that panicky “Is she going to dish out our food or eat it herself?” look. They hunkered over their kibble bowls and growled. Like that would have stopped me, if we’d been out of bagels.
And then it just got annoying. When I opened my email the daily science newsletter instead of random topics had a theme. I am not being unduly paranoid, normal paranoid, but not unduly. Here’s the proof. I’m having a Fat Day and this is what scientists are chatting about?
How to Best Help Your Child Lose Weight: Lose Weight Yourself
First, who says my child is fat? She isn’t. Second, she’s grown up and lives two states away, so it’s not like she can blame me anyway. Right?

Walking May Lessen the Influence of Genes On Obesity by Half
For an hour and fifteen minutes I walk each morning. Every day, as long as there are no tornadoes or The Prince Consort hasn’t suggested we go into town for errands, and I just happen to have a Buy One Get One free coupon for Subway. This article is bogus. I walk and walk, and my genes are still turning chocolate, chips, and soft drinks into fluffy-me-ness. Stupid scientists. Wait. Does this mean walking is interfering with losing weight? Hmmm.
Motivation to Be Active May Lead to Impulsive Behavior
Please. Now my obsession to walk (I really do love it.)  is responsible for eating that cupcake? So what, quit walking and just go sit in front of the refrigerator? I’m beginning to see a theme here.
Exercise is bad. Too late I walked. I intend to walk everyday. I’ll just have to think on this.
Losing Belly Fat, Whether from a Low-Carb or a Low-Fat Diet, Helps Improve Blood Vessel Function
According to this article the improved blood vessel function is not the anti-wrinkle vessels. Or more importantly not the brain kind, which I could sorely use.
Of course not.
Fat Day is drawing to a close, and of course I found a dinner recipe online. Luckily we are out of low fat cheese,
Kath who has to go shred lots of regular cheddar for dinner.
