Looking at You, Looking at Me
6 July 2013
Last week The Prince Consort got the great idea to do our morning walk at the Salato Wildlife Education Center in Frankfort, KY. The Salato is a wonderful collection of native Kentucky wildlife exhibits from native birds of prey to a marsh, native grasses and wildflowers.
But we weren’t the only ones looking.
Golden Eagle: You looking at ME? |
Black bear: YOU lookin’ at ME? |
Don’t look at me. |
I’m busy. I’ll look at you later. |
In the flight cage were families of Bob Whites/Quail (The Prince Consort has carried on whistling conversations with neighborhood Bob Whites that I was certain were going to result in a parade of Bob Whites following us home.)
Right behind you, Lady! |
I”M LOOKING AT YOU! LADY! |
The Bison weren’t looking at us. Their focus was definitely on the fruit the keeper had just tossed into their pasture. And yes, bison were once native to KY.
Kath: Who started looking for lunch after seeing the bison eat watermelon.
