Not Frog Hop, despite all the days of rain, but Blog Hop

Not Frog Hop, despite all the days of rain, but Blog Hop
11 Jul 2013
I write this blog as my substitute for the daily chats I no longer have with my dad. It’s for those funny little parts of life dad and I swapped in twice daily emails, until  he died.
But when longtime friend and gifted author Connie Fleming http://cmfleming.com/ tagged me in a blog hop. It was time to turn away from the critters around me and look at my life long love, writing.
Here are the nine questions Connie gave me to choose from:
1. What are you working on right now?
2. How does it differ from other works in its genre?
3. What experiences have influenced you?
4. Why do you write what you do?
5. How does your writing process work?
6. What is the hardest part about writing?
7. What would you like to try as a writer that you haven’t yet?
8. Who are the authors you most admire?
9. What scares you?
I chose:
  1. What are you working on right now?
Using the lessons I learned from the CBAY Writing Contest, I am completely overhauling my River Dr’gon and the Bumbelspells Wizard ms.
4. Why do you write what you do?
When I was seven I wrote a ‘book’ called The PB. It was fully illustrated with my own drawings of the PB, a squatty little fantasy character that bore a startling resemblance to my little sister. (Who grew out of short and cuddly into tall and gorgeous. And yet I still love her.)
As soon as I learned to read, I inhaled books- Nancy Drews, science fiction, gothic romance, mystery, historical fiction, all kinds of fiction. But then in high school- the world changed when I discovered Tolkien. And fantasy took me where I could go all on my own. My own written words.
7. What would you like to try as a writer that you haven’t yet?
I’d like to write a book from my experiences with wild animals, including Nikki Cat.
9. What scares you?
That the stapled together The PB book is the only book I’ll ever publish.. I’ve published essays and short stories for online periodicals and hardcopy periodicals, but my dream is to hold a book I’ve written in my hands. A book a publisher believed in and wanted to publish.
Now I’d like to tag these authors and their wonderful blogs.  They are uber busy, so they may not have time to play. But I’d like them to know they are appreciated.
Janet L Buck AKA Ally Shields
Awakening the Fire (Guardian Witch #1)
Fire Within (Guardian Witch #2)
 SR Johannes
Untraceable
Uncontrollable
Suffocate
Choke
And here are some of my amazing author friends who don’t have blogs. I wanted to mention them just because.
Aileen Kilgore Henderson
Ann Dorer
Jo Kittinger-http://www.jokittinger.com
Connie Fleming-http://cmfleming.com;
Joan Broerman-http://joan-broerman.com; http://joan-booklog.blogspot.com

Silly me, Joan and Connie most definitely have wonderful blogs! Head thump!
