Rufus: Just Saying: Our 99 Cent Author!

Hank and I have a problem. MomPeople has a new book, well two. And each of the Bubbles and Smush ebooks cost a whole 99 cents!!! How many dawg cookies is that? I mean think of all the people we know who might spend their money on MomPeople’s books instead of treats for us!!!!
Okay. It’s kind of hard to be real upset with MomPeople and her expensive books. She’s so happy. As happy as when her book The Lazy Dragon and the Bumblespells Wizard came out last October. Now she’s dancing through the house calling herself ‘The 99 Cent Author’. She even says she’s going to run a GiveAway on Goodreads soon. Winner gets a free copy of The Lazy Dragon! DadPeople laughs and is almost as happy. I hope he doesn’t spend his money on … maybe I should look at the books. Here goes.

“Smush, get down! Drop the weeds. Get down!” Bubbles hissed at his cousin. “Dr’gons!” Smush’s head jerked up, and her newest river-reed woven hat flopped into the river alongside the river weeds that dropped out of her mouth. She slipped just under the surface of the water and swam toward a pool three yards up the river.
Blurb: Trick or Treats: The two friends are thrilled when their dr’gon friend Cl’rnce invites them to the Halloween party at the school. However, they need costumes, and this makes Bubbles wonder: what would he like to be in the future?
Opening: Trick or Treats:
Without opening his eyes, Bubbles snapped at something, crunchy and smelling of slightly dried river weed that was bumping his nose. “Yum!” he said, not bothering to open his eyes. “Snacking while napping!” He choked it back up when Smush screeched, “Don’t you dare eat my new hat!”
Hmmm. I do love Halloween time. The leaves are already falling and there’s more to chase under all those leaves. As for Closet Monsters. Hank and I do not go in closets. I don’t care what it looked like when Mom and DadPeople got home and found things from the laundry room closet all over the family room floor, next to the stuffing from the couch, and the empty butt wipe box from the bathroom.
